Welcome

Welcome to the first edition of the official e-newsletter
for the International Network of Research Management Societies
(INORMS) Congress 2006. The Congress will address the theme
Internationalisation of Research: The Big Issues and Opportunities
of the Decade for Research Leaders and Managers and is
being held at the Sofitel Brisbane, Australia on 22-25 August
2006.
This international event, to be hosted by the Australasian
Research Management Society (ARMS), will be of interest to
research administrators and managers, researchers and trainee
researchers in developed and developing nations, and to policy
makers involved in the conduct of research in a global context.
The program is intended to reflect the objectives of INORMS
which are to internationalise the body of knowledge on research
management, to exchange best practice and to develop international
approaches to supporting the research enterprise.

involving humans, animal welfare, gene technology, bio-safety,
OH&S);
- The evaluation process (e.g. politics of peer
review, best practice, models for assessing and rewarding
